The Federal government refers to the current action in remote communities in the Northern Territory as an 'intervention', a word with positive, or relatively neutral connotations-though perhaps less so when the intervention is race-based, as in this case. Some people call this a 'new invasion', a phrase loaded with negative and emotive connotations. We refer this as an 'action', which is a more neutral word, but does not endorse the Federal government's actions in the Northern Territory.
