The three hour rally in Raintree Park, Darwin, attracted a conservative 500 people at short notice. Plans were laid for a march from Raintree Park at 5.00 pm to Mindil Beach (the world famous sunset markets that generally attract around 10,000 people) to watch the sunset, on Thursday 27th September.
13th September
We made it! We were aiming for 1,000 names by 12th September. We actually have almost 1,500 names ... and the endorsements are rolling in. This shows that there is widespread concern in the Australian community about the Federal Action in the NT, and widespread support for the Aboriginal families that are suffering from the implementation of this action.
We will incorporate this information in a press release we are preparing, to be released on 14th September.
