Daily Diary - 29th October, 2007

Return to our daily diary

There are no words to describe the true depth of the injustices being perpetrated by the government against Aboriginal people.  This cancer of abuse, disenfranchisement, disrespect and theft must not be tolerated by any decent Australian.  It's time for respect and equality for Aboriginal people.  When will we be afforded the same rights as other Australians?  Or is cultural genocide still on the agenda?

Casandra Jefferson, Tas, 29 October 2007

We must keep positive and keep advocating for solutions sought by Aboriginal women and children themselves. Best regards,

Jane Lazari, 29 October 2007

I welcome the opportunity via this website to share with others my support for indigenous people and communities in Australia.  Everyone is diminished by the way our indigenous people are treated by Governments but especially by the current Howard regime.  We must right the terrible wrongs that have been done. We must develop National policy in collaboration with Indigenous leaders to create a more equitable society.  I'm ashamed of our record so far.
