The problem with the intervention is that it showed no sensitivity to Aboriginal women whom it was purporting to support.  There should be no intervention without wide consultation - touching a whole range of groups.

I look forward to Indigenous policies being developed in consultation with local people so that I can truly feel they belong to the people they most affect and can be supported wholeheartedly by Women for Wik in their implementation. I look forward to WfW engaging in positive action as well as a monitoring and watchdog role. Can this be a 'transformational moment in our history" - I hope so!
